Coconut oil can be labelled as refined, meaning the oil is processed further to remove impurities and flavour, and the unrefined which means no further process is done on the oil and thus you are left with the original smell and flavour of the coconut oil.

Be informed that in order to produce a gallon of coconut oil, you would need about 65 coconuts and some processes to do so.
The extraction of coconut oil from the kernel is done by the process of either dry or wet. In using the dry process, the coconut meat is removed from the kernel, dried out under the sun, then the dried meat is either pressed or dissolved with solvents. On the other hand, the wet process would use the raw coconut meat from the kernel and directly pressed that would result to a liquid mixture of oil and water.
